Description The Senior Landfill Heavy Equipment Operator operates light and heavy equipment and performs general laboring duties. Examples of Duties Operates a wheel loader, yard jockey truck, and trailer to process incoming waste to be hauled by contractor to out-of-county landfill site. Operates excavator, wheel loader, bulldozer, and compactor to process inert waste. Operates a zero-turn mower and farm tractor/rotary mower to maintain landfill grounds. Operates weed eaters, hand blowers, edgers, chemical sprayers, pole saws, etc. to maintain the landfill. Performs preventive maintenance on vehicles and heavy equipment. Performs litter control duties. Serves on City Emergency Response Team as required. Provides direction and assistance to customers. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED; One (1) year of experience in a related field; Or equivalent training, education, and/or experience; and Valid State of Georgia Class "B" Commercial Driver's License.
