Job Description

Waste Connections is looking for a safety conscience Heavy Equipment Operator to join our GROWING team at our Loess Hills Landfill in Malvern, IA.
PAY:
$25
  • 30 per hour
  • Every hour after 40 is paid overtime.
  • Annual safety bonus rewarded for safe operating.
SCHEDULE
Monday
  • Friday 6:00am-5:30pm and every other Saturday 6am-12pm.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
:
  • Spreading and compacting trash using a compactor
  • Spreading daily cover using a dozer
  • Excavating soil using an excavator
  • Maintaining haul roads using a grader
  • Hauling soil with an articulated dump truck
  • Work in a fast paced, team environment
  • Follow safe operating practices
  • Learn and use interpersonal skills relating to good customer service
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT
  • Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 60 pounds.
  • The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration.
Noise level is usually moderate.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English.
  • 2 years of experience preferred .
