About the Role We are seeking an experienced Mainline Excavator Operator with strong skills in trenching, utility installation, and precise excavation. This role requires safe, accurate operation around crews, utilities, and active jobsite environments. You'll play a key part in completing underground and mainline projects efficiently and safely. Responsibilities Operate excavators for mainline trenching , utility installation, and deep excavation Dig trenches and install utilities according to plans, grades, and specifications Perform site grading, backfilling, and trench safety practices Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA standards Work closely with foremen and crew members to meet project timelines Assist laborers when needed (physical tasks outside the machine may be required) Conduct daily equipment inspections and maintain equipment in proper working condition Requirements Valid driver's license (CDL A preferred) 4+ years of construction experience (preferred) 4+ years of excavator operating experience (preferred) Skills Ability to read construction drawings and understand elevation grades Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions Strong hand‑eye coordination and attention to detail Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team Experience with laser grading systems Qualifications Physically capable of lifting, bending, and working on foot for an 8‑hour shift Ability to use a tape measure and grade rod accurately Strong teamwork mindset and commitment to safety Alignment with Idaho Grading and Trucking's Core Values and Mission How to Apply Submit your resume through Indeed or contact Idaho Grading and Trucking at
