Job Description
Maintenance Operator I Village of Deerfield Public Works Department The Village of Deerfield, Illinois (Pop. 19,197) seeks applicants for the full-time position of Maintenance Operator I
- Water Division.
Key Essential Functions:
Repair underground water mains and service lines. Repair asphalt, concrete and landscaping caused by distribution system work. Install and repair fire hydrants. Trash removal and pick up from various village trashcan locations, roadways, etc. Assist in leaf removal operation. Plow snow, salt streets, and shovel sidewalks during snow removal operations. Retrieve deceased animals. Clean and wash equipment regularly. Operate concrete saws, sledgehammers, air hammers, large trucks and equipment.- Work within confined spaces; from 5 ft to 25 ft below ground for extended periods.
Education Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent (GED)Certifications:
Valid Illinois CDL Driver's License- Class A ( current or obtained within six (6) months) .
Hours of Work:
Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with overtime as needed. Hours will vary and applicant must be flexible.Starting and Benefits:
Position and salary will be dependent on years of experience. Maintenance Operator Trainee- Requires 1 year of experience, $65,788
- $81,271 Maintenance Operator I
- Requires 3 years of experience, $77,248
- $95,421 $2,500 signing bonus for new hire who currently possesses a valid CDL Class A Driver's License with airbrake and tanker endorsement.
Pay:
$65,788.00- $81,271.
