Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Heavy Equipment Operator and play a vital role in construction projects that build communities and infrastructure. In this energetic position, you will operate a variety of heavy machinery to facilitate excavation, material handling, and site development. Your expertise will ensure that projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. Responsibilities Operate heavy construction machinery including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, and dump trucks to move materials and prepare sites for construction activities. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance. Follow all equipment safety procedures and occupational safety regulations while operating machinery on-site. Handle materials using appropriate material handling equipment such as forklifts, water trucks, tanker trucks, and roll-off trucks. Assist with concrete mixing operations and support other construction activities requiring mechanical knowledge and hand tools. Maintain accurate logs of equipment usage, inspections, and maintenance activities for accountability and safety records. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow, adhering strictly to safety protocols including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Qualifications Proven construction site experience with a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation and site safety procedures. Valid commercial driver's license with experience in commercial truck driving, including operation of dump trucks, front loader trucks, water trucks, tanker trucks, and farm machinery. Demonstrated ability to operate excavators ranging from 30,000 lbs to 80,000 lbs, bulldozers, padfoot and smooth drum rollers, skid-steers, and cranes. Mechanical knowledge related to construction machinery maintenance and troubleshooting. Familiarity with construction experience involving concrete mixers, water trucks, roll-off trucks, and other material handling equipment. Knowledge of occupational safety regulations applicable to heavy equipment operation; commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. Ability to operate hand tools effectively for minor repairs or adjustments on machinery. Strong communication skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions clearly and precisely. Experience utilizing GCS900 GPS and UTS systems and equipment for efficient machine operation. $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
