The Town of Hopkinton is seeking a dependable, motivated Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) to join our Department of Public Works Highway Division.

Anticipated Hiring Range:

$22.71

• $29.69 per hour, depending on qualifications and in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement Full range for this position is $22.71
• $36.54 per hour Competitive Leave and Benefits package Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM
• 2:30 PM.

Overtime required. Responds to emergencies during and after normal business hours. Drug & Alcohol screening is a condition of employment This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating equipment, and taking pride in maintaining the roads, grounds, cemeteries, and public spaces that serve our community. The HEO operates a variety of heavy equipment, including backhoes, front-end loaders, street sweepers, sanders, plows, trucks, and other equipment used in public works operations. Cemetery, funeral, burial, gravesite experience is a plus. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Three to five years of experience operating equipment and trucks in construction and maintenance work, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience safely operating heavy equipment and power-driven tools. Valid U.S. Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B. Hoisting Engineer License, Class 2B or greater Cemetery, funeral, burial, gravesite experience is highly desirable. Candidates should be comfortable performing physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather conditions and participating in snow and ice operations and emergency response as needed.
