Trash & Recycling Facility Job Type:
Full-Time, Temp to
Hire Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 6AM-4:30
PM Pay:
$22+ depending upon experience About the Position We are looking for a reliable and safety-minded Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at a busy trash and recycling facility. This position is responsible for operating heavy equipment to move, sort, load, and process recyclable materials and waste while maintaining a safe and clean work environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable working around heavy machinery, indoors/outdoors and in a fast-paced industrial environment, and takes pride in operating equipment safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment such as loaders, skid steers, excavators, forklifts, and other facility machinery Move, load, unload, and organize trash, recyclable materials, and other materials Feed and monitor recycling and processing equipment Perform routine equipment inspections and identify maintenance or safety concerns Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards Follow all facility safety procedures and OSHA guidelines Communicate effectively with supervisors and other equipment operators Assist with general facility operations as needed Perform daily equipment checks and report mechanical issues promptly Work safely around moving machinery, trucks, conveyors, and other industrial equipment Qualifications Previous experience operating heavy equipment preferred Experience in a recycling, waste management, construction, or industrial environment is a plus Ability to safely operate equipment in a busy work environment Strong attention to safety and detail Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to perform physical tasks and work in varying weather conditions Willingness to learn additional equipment and facility procedures If you're an experienced equipment operator looking for steady work in a hands-on environment, we want to hear from you!
