Gravel Pit Operator/Laborer - Heavy Equipment Operator

This position involves operating equipment, general pit labor and helping keep the site safe and running smoothly. Job Responsibilities Operates various equipment such as loader, dozer, excavator, haul truck, skid steer to run materials through a wash plant or dry screener. Performs equipment maintenance. Inspection and production reporting as required for work area and equipment. Keeps equipment and work area clean. Performs plant maintenance and housekeeping duties. Adheres to MSHA regulations and is conscious of preventing violations. Must be willing to work according to the company's product demands. Adhere to all safety regulations including company policies, State, and Federal regulations. Responsible for reporting all incidents/injuries to management as soon as they occur. Other duties as assigned. Job Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Possession of a valid driver license Clean/safe driving record Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen Ability to pass a pre-employment physical. Must have the physical ability to: climb, stoop, bend, squat, twist, frequently life up to 50 pounds, stretch, drive/sit Must have excellent attendance records and be punctual Ability to work well with others on the team and have a positive attitude Adhere to all safety regulations including company policies, State and Federal regulations Must be able to work a flexible schedule with flexible hours, hours vary; overtime work; Saturdays and nights may be required Must be able to lift heavy equipment and parts regularly Excellent customer service skills Must be comfortable with working in awkward positions or cramped spaces
