Job Description

Overview Immediate opening for a CDL-A driver to join our team. This role is essential for ensuring that our equipment is transported efficiently and safely from our shop in Novi, MI and to field at sites throughout SE Michigan. This position returns home each night but you may be required to travel up to sites 2 hours around Novi, MI. As a driver you will be responsible for safely loading and operating a truck with a capacity of up to 160,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) - cargo includes overweight/oversized loads of forestry equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience in heavy hauling with an understanding on the operation and hauling of various types of heavy machinery including skid steers, dozers, feller bunchers, forestry mulchers, grinders and other various forestry/grading equipment for residential and commercial land clearing jobs. Experience safely hauling materials such as logs and mulch via log trucks, walking floors, and dump trucks is also a plus, as the position may also be responsible for moving materials at the completion of projects. We work outdoors and working hours are limited by daylight, weather, and municipal guidelines. You may be required to work as early as 6am and as late as 8pm Monday through Saturday. Responsibilities Load and off load equipment on multiple trailer types. Safely haul equipment, and have knowledge how to chain down/tie down equipment correctly and follow all DOT laws and safety regulations. Load and unload wood materials including logs and mulch Perform routine inspections on vehicles and trailers. Experience 2 years Valid CDL-A driver's license required for this position. Experience in Heavy equipment operation to move, load, unload and haul, preferred Experience in material hauling, preferred Requirements Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Ability to accurately follow directions and ask questions for clarity if needed Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision and without damage to equipment and property. Ability to communicate clearly and without hesitation. Ability to work in all types of environments, weather conditions and all seasons Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Must be able to pass background check and pre-employment/random drug tests as required by Federal agencies.
