Job Description

About us Mierzwa Excavating is a Michigan excavation and demolition contractor. Our work covers residential and commercial demolition, site prep, grading and utility work. We're looking for an experienced operator who takes pride in clean, accurate work and can run a job site safely. What you'll do Run excavators, loaders and skid steers on demolition and site work jobs Demolish houses and commercial buildings, including sorting and loading debris, protecting utilities and cleaning up the site Clear sites and strip topsoil, then do rough and finish grading Dig for foundations, basements, footings and utilities Backfill and compact, and prep building pads and driveways Shoot grade with a laser, rotary or builder's level, and work from grade stakes and site plans Do daily equipment inspections, greasing and basic maintenance, and report any problems Follow safety rules on every job, including trench safety and working safely around other crews Work with the foreman and crew to keep jobs on schedule and on budget Requirements 3+ years operating an excavator, loader and skid steer Demolition experience , residential or commercial Site work experience , including excavation, grading, backfill and site prep Able to shoot grade , read grade stakes and work from site plans to finish grade Ability to read engineering plans. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record Reliable transportation, with the ability to travel to job sites in Oakland County Able to work outdoors in all weather and lift up to 50 lbs Preferred OSHA 10 or 30 certification Mechanical knowledge of Caterpillar and John Deere equipment Experience with GPS machine control Experience with underground utilities (water, sewer, storm) Asbestos or hazardous materials awareness training What we offer Competitive pay based on experience Steady year-round work Well-maintained equipment Room to grow into a foreman or lead operator role
Pay:
$26.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
