This energetic position offers the opportunity to operate a variety of construction machinery, including excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, and water trucks, while adhering to strict safety standards. As a key player in utility construction projects, you will ensure efficient excavation, grading, trenching, and utility installation activities. Your expertise will help deliver high-quality results on time and within safety guidelines, supporting the growth of vital community utilities. This is a union position. Duties Operate heavy construction equipment such as excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, backhoes, and water trucks to perform excavation, grading, utility installation, and paving tasks across multiple sites. Conduct routine maintenance and safety inspections on all machinery to ensure optimal performance and compliance with equipment safety procedures. Assist with utility locating to accurately identify underground utilities before excavation begins, preventing damage and ensuring safety. Perform construction site preparation activities including grading and trenching for utility lines in accordance with project specifications. Follow federal construction safety regulations and safety regulations to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and team members. Drive commercial trucks and dump trucks to transport equipment and materials between project sites efficiently. Support horizontal drilling operations for underground utility installation when required by project scope. Skills Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, backhoes, and water trucks. Strong mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime. Skilled in utility locating techniques to accurately identify underground utilities prior to excavation work. Valid commercial driver's license with experience in commercial truck driving and dump truck operation. Knowledge of construction grading, excavation procedures, and paving techniques. Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures to uphold safety standards on-site. Ability to perform construction utility work efficiently while adhering to project timelines and quality standards.
