We're seeking a reliable Scale Clerk/Loader Operator to join our team. In this vital position, you'll operate heavy equipment, support office operations, and ensure smooth material delivery to our valued customers. Competitive starting wage $20-$23 an hour, with potential for higher pay based on experience Opportunities for growth and advancement within the company Supportive team environment and comprehensive on-the-job training Commitment to workplace safety and employee development Key Responsibilities Safely load customer trucks with specified products and quantities using a Front End Loader Provide outstanding customer service by answering phone calls, arranging orders, and assisting with inquiries Accurately weigh trucks and generate scale tickets using our computer system Coordinate and dispatch deliveries to meet customer needs Assist customers and vendors with questions, pricing, and credit applications Refer larger projects and bids to our sales team for specialized service Maintain and care for computer, phone equipment, and Front End Loader through regular preventative maintenance Communicate efficiently using radio and handle incoming/outgoing faxes and mail Uphold MSHA safety standards and participate in relevant training, including first aid Keep the scale house and quarry work areas clean, organized, and safe What We're Looking For Experience operating a 5 cubic yard (or larger) Front End Loader Strong knowledge of general office practices and computer use Excellent verbal and written communication skills Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide; comfortable using calculators and office equipment Commitment to safety for yourself and those around you Ability to climb a 6-8 foot vertical ladder to access loader cab High school diploma or equivalent preferred Six months to one year of relevant clerical/office experience preferred Willingness to comply with company drug and alcohol policies, including random testing Physical & Work Environment Requirements- Frequently required to climb, balance, and perform tasks involving physical agility.
- Regularly sit, climb, and use hand signals or equipment; occasionally stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, or reach above shoulder height.
- Lift and move objects weighing up to 50-75 lbs as needed.
- Work primarily outdoors, often in extreme weather and environmental conditions.
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions; exposed to jobsite hazards such as moving machinery, high places, airborne particles, and loud environments.
- Must have specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, to operate equipment safely.
