As a Public Works technician, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment, supporting construction projects, and ensuring the safety and functionality of public facilities. Responsibilities Operate heavy machinery including loaders, backhoes, graders, dump trucks, and front loader trucks to perform construction, grading, excavation, and paving tasks. Support construction projects by preparing sites, moving materials, and assisting with water and sewer repairs and upgrades. Conduct utility locating to identify underground utilities before excavation or construction activities begin. Maintain safety protocols on-site by inspecting equipment and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Assist with road repairs, paving projects, and general maintenance of public facilities. Collaborate with team members to complete project documentation and report progress or issues promptly. Support the setup and breakdown of construction zones to ensure safe working environments for all personnel. Experience Prior experience operating heavy equipment such as loaders, backhoes, graders, dump trucks, or front loader trucks is desired. Experience with utility locating techniques and understanding underground utility systems is preferred but not required. Hands-on experience in paving or road maintenance projects is a plus. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety and efficiency. Pay:

$20.00 - $23.00 per hour
