Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and skilled Heavy Equipment Operator specializing in excavator and dozer operation to join our dynamic construction team in. In this role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating heavy machinery to perform excavation, grading, utility work, and site preparation tasks. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of construction projects while adhering to all safety regulations and industry standards. Responsibilities Operate excavators, dozers, graders, loaders, and water trucks with precision to execute excavation, grading, paving, and utility installation tasks. Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on construction machinery to ensure optimal performance and compliance with equipment safety procedures. Conduct construction utility work including utility locating to accurately identify underground utilities before excavation begins. Follow federal construction safety regulations and site-specific safety protocols diligently to maintain a safe working environment. Assist with construction site preparation by performing land clearing, grading, and site leveling activities. Support horizontal drilling operations and other specialized construction activities as needed. Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and project progress for accountability and efficiency. Skills Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as excavators, dozers (including Caterpillar equipment), graders, loaders, and water trucks. Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot basic issues and perform routine maintenance on equipment. Knowledge of construction grading techniques and excavation processes for various project types. Ability to perform construction utility work including utility locating with appropriate tools and technology. Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures to ensure compliance at all times. Valid commercial driver's license with experience in commercial truck driving preferred. Excellent understanding of construction site safety regulations, paving techniques, horizontal drilling, and water truck operation.
