Job title: Optometric Medical Assistant Reports to : Clinic Manager Job purpose: Our growing and thriving Optometry office is looking for a full-time Medical Assistant to assist doctors with patient care.Duties and responsibilities:
Medical Assistant - Optometric As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to the clinical operation of the optometry office. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.Responsibilities:
Interview patients and document basic medical history. Update medical records. Schedule referral appointments. Code insurance claims. Input data into electronic medical records. Erx medications to pharmacies. Assist during medical examinations. Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms. Perform diagnostic and imaging test. Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments. Train and assist patients with contact lens orders.Skills:
Proven working experience as a medical assistant Knowledge of medical office procedures. Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work. Social perceptiveness and service-oriented. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and planning skills. Proficiency in Revolution or other patient management software.Qualifications include:
High school diploma. General knowledge of computers. Must be a self-starter and able to work under minimal supervision. Experience in medical assisting is a plus.Working conditions:
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.Physical requirements:
