Job Description

Title:
Engineer, Small Excavators (SMX) Structures - 120560
Onsite/Remote:
Onsite Position As an Engineer, SMX Structures and Undercarriage for JD Kernersville located in Kernersville, NC, you will be responsible for updating product designs, coordinating testing and analysis and supporting the product line to achieve quality, durability, and cost reductions goals for current production models. In addition, you will: Provide technical leadership to identify root cause, contain, and resolve product issues for the Small Excavator product family Collaborate with cross-functional teams on developing solutions for current production issues in factory and field Work with internal and external suppliers to improve the quality and durability of current product Provide technical support to marketing, product support, manufacturing/assembly, quality and supply management organizations Occasionally travel to machines in the field to support root cause investigations and solution verification VISA Sponsorship is NOT available for this position A strong ability and desire to quickly learn new subject matter and technologies Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional and culturally diverse teams Foundational knowledge in structural and/or sheet metal design, fabrication, analysis, testing, or quality Experience using Creo, SolidWorks, or similar modeling software to develop and evaluate design solutions Demonstrated ability to interpret technical data, evaluate alternatives, and make data-driven decisions to solve complex engineering challenges What Makes You Standout Experience with various manufacturing processes including stamping, welding, forming, casting, composite, or machining processes Basic understanding of GD&T principles and tolerance stack-up analysis Familiarity with Construction, Forestry, or Ag off-road equipment Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously Experience using engineering tools such as Creo, PDMLink, and SAP Demonstrated cross-functional collaboration with teams such as Product Validation & Verification, FEA, or Manufacturing Experience working with vendors, suppliers, and contract engineering firms Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following: BS in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or equivalent experience What You'll Get Here, you'll enjoy the freedom to explore new projects, the support to think outside the box and the advanced tools and technology that foster innovation and achievement.
