As an Asphalt Roller Operator, you will be responsible for operating specialized paving equipment to ensure smooth, durable surfaces on various civil infrastructure projects. Your expertise will help us build reliable roads, parking lots, and other essential infrastructure while adhering to all safety and regulatory guidelines. Responsibilities Operate asphalt rollers and paving equipment with precision to achieve optimal compaction and surface quality. Conduct routine maintenance and mechanical inspections of construction machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation. Assist with the setup and operation of asphalt rolling patterns to ensure proper paving operations. Collaborate with team members on construction sites to execute asphalt paving. Follow safety regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) standards, and site-specific safety protocols at all times to maintain a secure work environment. Use basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to paving thickness, and material quantities. Support heavy equipment operation such as skid steers as needed for project completion. Experience Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery, particularly asphalt rollers and paving equipment. Knowledge of construction site procedures related to asphalt paving projects including asphalt paving and site preparation. Familiarity with construction machinery maintenance routines to ensure longevity and performance of equipment. Understanding of safety regulations including DOT (Department of Transportation) standards, safety protocol adherence, and construction site safety practices. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail on complex projects. Prior experience working with bituminous materials and commercial truck driving is advantageous but not mandatory.
