Motor Grader Operator

Job description: Operates various heavy equipment, trucks and/or motor grader. Could be asked to haul dirt, gravel or rock to roads, maintain gravel roads, remove snow or debris and will assist with maintenance/repairs of hard surface roads. All following duties listed are some specifics of the position but are not limited to: Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Must be able to write clearly and communicate with co-workers for accountability and submit weekly timesheet. 2. Will be required to operate a motor grader for maintenance/repair of roads with precision to obtain a smooth and safe road surface and drainage system for the public. 3. If applicant has a CDL, could be asked to drive a combination or straight truck to haul dirt, gravel, or rock and other aggregates to and from roads and/or assist on road projects. 4. The applicant could be asked to assist with sign repairs, installation, and perform traffic control for projects on roads in compliance with the MUTCD standards. 5. The applicant will be asked to complete pre-trip inspections and perform general maintenance on all equipment, including but not limited to greasing, checking/adding oil and fluids, assist with the equipment service and minor repairs, and must be able to keep the machine clean inside and out. 6. Perform snow removal when conditions require as determined by General Foreman and or Highway Superintendent be completed in a quick and safe manner in compliance with York County snow removal plan. 7. May be required to remove vegetation and/or debris from all parts of right of way via mechanical or physical means necessary. Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations A valid Nebraska drivers license is required. A commercial drivers license is not required but encouraged.
