An Operating Engineer or Heavy Equipment Operator drives and operates heavy equipment used in quarries, construction sites, landfills, refuse and recycling centers, or ports. Heavy Equipment may include, but is not limited to, bulldozers, excavators, paving equipment and pile drivers.

Job Description

Performs the skilled operation of heavy equipment used in highway maintenance and construction activities. Also performs various semi-skilled tasks essential to public works operations including but not limited to utilizing and maintaining chain saws, heavy equipment and other tools to perform required maintenance of highways, roads, and town properties. Applicant also required to obtain and maintain a transfer station certificate to work in our transfer station, if needed. Town of Dalton is an equal opportunity employer.
