We are looking for hardworking, reliable, and physically fit Snow Shovelers to join our winter maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for clearing snow and ice from sidewalks, pathways, steps, entryways, and hard-to-reach areas around commercial or residential properties using hand tools and walk-behind equipment.
Key Responsibilities Manual Snow Removal:
Shovel snow from walkways, steps, handicap ramps, doorways, and emergency exits.
Ice Management:
Spread ice melt, salt, or sand manually using hand spreaders or scoops to prevent slips and falls.
Equipment Operation:
Safely operate walk-behind snowblowers, power brooms, and other light snow removal equipment as trained.
Property Inspection:
Inspect assigned areas before and after clearing to ensure all paths are completely safe and hazard-free.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere strictly to all company safety guidelines, wear appropriate winter personal protective equipment (PPE), and watch out for pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
Teamwork & Communication:
Work closely with crew leads and heavy machinery operators to ensure both small walkways and large lots are cleared efficiently.
Qualifications & Requirements Physical Stamina:
Must be able to perform heavy physical labor in winter weather conditions (extreme cold, wind, snow, and ice) for extended periods.
Physical Strength:
Ability to frequently bend, twist, reach, walk, and lift/throw snow, capable of lifting up to 40-50 lbs repeatedly.
Gear:
Ability to provide and wear your own appropriate cold-weather work gear (insulated waterproof boots, thermal layers, heavy-duty gloves, etc.).
Experience:
Previous experience in manual labor, or snow removal is a plus.
