support, hydroseeding and drill seeding, hard armoring (rip rap, gabions, rock plating), hydro-mulching, straw/hay mulching, soil preparation and amendment, dust/haul road stabilization, geomorphic reclamation, fencing, and related Best Management Practices (BMPs). Our work supports mining, construction, oil & gas, solar/wind energy, highways, pipelines, and other sites. Crews are MSHA and OSHA certified. Position Summary We are seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to safely and efficiently operate specialized machinery on reclamation, erosion control, and site restoration projects. Operators will work as part of field crews performing earthwork, material placement, seeding/mulching support, hard armoring, and related tasks under the direction of supervisors and project leads. This is a field-based role involving travel to job sites across the Southwest. Key Responsibilities Safely operate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, skid steers, dozers, graders, hydroseeders, mulchers/straw blowers, and related machinery used in erosion control, soil preparation, hard armoring, and revegetation work. Perform site preparation, grading, material placement (including rip rap and rock), and support for geomorphic reclamation and slope stabilization. Assist with or operate equipment for hydroseeding, hydro-mulching, and related application processes. Conduct daily pre- and post-operation equipment inspections, basic maintenance, and report mechanical issues promptly. Load/unload materials and equipment; transport machinery between sites as needed. Follow all project plans, grade stakes, and environmental compliance requirements while maintaining high production and quality standards. Adhere strictly to MSHA, OSHA, and company safety protocols; wear required PPE at all times. Work collaboratively with laborers, supervisors, and other crew members; communicate effectively on the job site. Perform other related duties as assigned to support overall project success. Qualifications & Requirements Proven experience operating heavy equipment (excavators, loaders, skid steers, dozers, etc.) in construction, mining, reclamation, or similar outdoor environments. Ability to read grade stakes, site plans, and follow detailed instructions. Strong mechanical aptitude and commitment to equipment care and safety. Physically able to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain for extended periods. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to job sites throughout the Southwest (overnight or multi-day travel may be required). Valid driver's license; CDL preferred. Must be able to obtain/maintain required safety certifications (MSHA, OSHA, etc.) and pass pre-employment screening. Prior experience with hydroseeding/mulching equipment or hard armoring (rip rap/gabions) is a plus. What We Offer Competitive hourly pay is based on experience and equipment proficiency.
