Job Description

Job Summary The Skid Steer Operator plays a critical role in our water transfer operations. You will operate skid steers equipped with specialized attachments (such as hose reels and deployment systems) to string out and roll up layflat hoses. This position requires high precision to avoid damaging equipment, a strong commitment to oilfield safety, and a willingness to perform physical labor alongside the ground crew when not operating machinery. Key Responsibilities Equipment Operation Deploy and retrieve 12-inch layflat hoses using a skid steer and specialized hose reel attachments. Maneuver machinery safely around tight lease locations, strict rights-of-way (ROW), pipelines, and uneven oilfield terrain. Perform daily pre-trip inspections on the skid steer, checking fluids, tracks/tires, hydraulics, and attachments. Maintain equipment cleanliness and report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs immediately. Field Operations & Support Assist the water transfer crew with connecting hoses, installing manifolds, rigging up pumps, and setting up road crossings when machinery is idle. Monitor hose integrity during deployment and retrieval to prevent kinks, punctures, or excessive wear. Secure and load layflat reels and other equipment onto trailers for transport between jobs. Safety & Compliance Adhere to all company, OSHA, and operator-specific safety policies, including wearing proper PPE at all times. Participate in daily JSA (Job Safety Analysis) reports and identify potential field hazards. Maintain situational awareness to protect ground crew members working in close proximity to the skid steer.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience operating a skid steer (tracked or wheeled) in an oilfield or construction setting.
Industry Knowledge:
Prior experience in water transfer operations and handling layflat hose is required
License:
Valid driver's license
Physical Fitness:
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, work long hours outdoors in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, mud, dust), and bend/kneel repeatedly.
Schedule:
Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and overtime as project demands require. A 4x4 Truck is required to access job locations.

$300.00 per day
