Dozer Operator Needed with Topcon GPS - Civil Dirt and Site Preparation near San Juan Solar Pay based on experience starting at $28/hour - Per diem available for over 75 miles from site Job Description This role operates heavy equipment to move and haul dirt, clear vegetation, and build access roads for a large-scale photovoltaic (PV) solar site. You will support civil dirt work and site preparation activities by safely and efficiently operating dozers and related equipment on an active construction project. Essential Skills Must have previous experience running Topcon GPS on a Dozer Proven experience operating heavy equipment for civil contractors on construction or industrial projects. Hands-on experience with dozers and civil dirt work, including moving and hauling dirt on large sites. Ability to perform trenching, grading, and digging with precision and attention to site plans. Previous experience in industrial or civil dirt environments, including road building and site preparation. Experience operating equipment such as dozers and bobcats in outdoor jobsite conditions. Strong awareness of safety practices related to heavy equipment operation. Ability to work extended hours, including 10-12 hour days and 60+ hours per week as needed. Flexibility to adjust to changing schedules, including potential work on Saturdays and Sundays. Previous experience on large-scale construction or PV solar sites is beneficial. Familiarity with working on mesa or similar terrain is an advantage. Ability to follow site plans, grade requirements, and verbal instructions accurately. Strong teamwork and communication skills when coordinating with other operators and field staff. Reliability and punctuality in adhering to demanding construction schedules. Responsibilities Operate dozers and other heavy equipment to move, spread, and compact dirt across the project site. Clear the mesa of shrubs, weeds, cactus, and other vegetation to prepare the land for construction activities. Construct and maintain access roads and work areas to support a large-scale PV solar site. Perform trenching, grading, and digging tasks according to project specifications and site plans. Follow directions from site supervision to complete civil dirt work in a safe and efficient manner. Conduct basic pre-operation inspections of equipment and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns. Work in coordination with other equipment operators and site personnel to maintain smooth workflow and safe operations. Adhere to all site safety procedures, traffic patterns, and environmental guidelines while operating equipment. Adjust work methods and pace to meet changing project needs, schedules, and site conditions.
