The purpose of the Heavy Equipment Operator is to excavate and move diatomaceous earth, dirt, rock, sand and other raw materialsII. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Fluidly and effectively move machine, create and move stockpiles and an ability to dig, lift, swing and dump contents of shovel into truck, car, conveyor, hopper or stockpile
- Responsible for the safe operation of equipment, follow all traffic rules on and off the company property
- Meet and exceed productivity standards in a timely manner and adapt to changes in the work environment
- Specific vision abilities required including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Maintain telephone or radio contact with Supervisor to receive instructions
- Inspect equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water
- Assist in performance of emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, etc.
- Inspect equipment for defects before, during and after shifts and submit report indicating equipment condition
- Follow all federal and state safety regulations and company safety policies/procedures
- Keep the equipment clean and presentable
- Perform equipment maintenance as required
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively both written and verbal in the English language when performing the job requirements III. The ability to work with a high degree of autonomy;

- Consistently at work and on time; meet schedules and deadlines on time
- Demonstrate the ability to adapt to changes in the work environment
