Job Description

Contento's is hiring motivated, dependable Demolition Laborers, Demolition Supervisors, and Heavy Equipment Operators to support our expanding demolition projects across Central New York. These positions play a key role in project execution, site safety and efficient material handling within our industry-leading demolition and environmental services division.
Pay:
Laborers:
$18.00
  • $22.
00 per hour based on experience
Operators:
$24.00
  • $30.
00 per hour based on experience
Supervisors:
$26.00
  • $32.

Paid Holidays:
6 per year
  • 40 hours of paid sick time upon hire
  • 40 hours of vacation after 1 year
  • 50 hours of vacation after 2 years

What You'll Do:
Demolition Laborers
  • Perform building and structural demolition tasks using hand tools and power tools
  • Assist operators and supervisors with site preparation and debris removal
  • Load, sort, and handle demolition materials
  • Safely lift/move materials up to 75 lbs
  • Wear company-issued PPE at all times
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions Heavy Equipment Operators
  • Safely operate excavators, skid steers, loaders, and specialized demolition equipment
  • Perform structural separation, debris loading, and on-site material handling
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and communicate any maintenance needs
  • Work closely with supervisors to complete tasks safely and efficiently Demolition Supervisors
  • Lead and coordinate demolition crews on active job sites
  • Ensure site safety, compliance, and documentation
  • Communicate with project managers and dispatch
  • Oversee equipment use, workflow, and daily productivity
  • Train laborers and assist with equipment operations as needed What You Need to
Qualify:
Laborers
  • Prior construction or demolition experience preferred
  • OSHA 10 Training (or willingness to obtain—company-provided training available)
  • Telehandler and Aerial Lift Operating training preferred
  • Asbestos Certification with up to date respirator fit test preferred
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments
  • Strong work ethic and reliability Heavy Equipment Operators
  • Prior construction or demolition experience preferred
  • 1+ year of heavy equipment operating experience (excavators, loaders, skid steers, etc.)
  • Asbestos Certification with up to date respirator fit test preferred
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments
OSHA 40 HAZWOPER
Training (or willingness to obtain—company-provided training available)
  • Telehandler and Aerial Lift Operating training preferred Supervisors
  • 2+ years of demolition or construction leadership experience
  • Asbestos Certification with up to date respirator fit test preferred
  • Strong communication and crew-management skills
OSHA 40 HAZWOPER
Training (or willingness to obtain—company-provided training available)
  • Familiarity with Federal NYS labor laws, prevailing wage provisions and Microsoft office suite a plus
Job Details:
Full-time, 40-hour work weeks available
Schedule:
Day shift Monday to Friday Occasional weekend work may be required
Work Location:
Report in person to 119 Pendleton Street, Cortland, NY 13045 to be deployed to various job sites in company vehicles
