Job Description

Akron's Finest Mulch is looking for a dependable, hardworking individual who is comfortable operating a JCB front wheel loader and working with plants. This is a hands on, outdoor position that combines front-loader operation, customer service, and daily greenhouse care. •This is not strictly a loader position or strictly a plant-care position. Applicants must be willing to perform both sides of the job.
Responsibilities Include:
Safely operating a front-end loader to load mulch, topsoil, & gravel into customer's vehicles. Accurately loading customer vehicles and company delivery trucks. Assisting customers with plant selections and answering basic plant-care questions. Watering & maintaining flowers, hanging baskets, shrubs, & other greenhouse inventory. Keep up with greenhouse grounds maintenance. Flipping mulch piles, communicating to main office when yard needs stocked with more supply. Helping with general daily tasks as needed.
The ideal candidate:
Has previous front-end loader or similar heavy-equipment experience Has basic knowledge of annuals, perennials, shrubs, and general plant care Is willing to learn more about our plants and products Is comfortable working outdoors in heat, rain, dust, and changing weather Can safely lift 50 pounds and remain active throughout the shift Is dependable, punctual, self-motivated, and able to notice what needs done Communicates professionally with customers and coworkers Understands that watering and plant care are essential daily responsibilities—not optional tasks Previous experience in a greenhouse, garden center, nursery, landscaping company, or mulch yard is strongly preferred.
Pay:
$17.50 - $19.50 per hour
