Part-Time Mechanic and Full-Time Loader Operator (during snow events) Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Mechanic and Loader Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in diesel mechanics, heavy truck repair, and equipment maintenance, with the ability to handle mechanical systems and perform welding and electrical repairs as needed. Responsibilities Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of vehicles and heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance. Perform diesel engine repairs, including troubleshooting and replacing faulty components. Maintain and repair heavy trucks, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Service and repair vehicle systems such as automotive electrical systems, mechanical systems, and other related components. Carry out welding tasks for repairs or modifications on machinery or vehicle parts. Diagnose mechanical issues using appropriate tools and techniques, providing effective solutions. Operate loaders and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently during daily tasks for snow removal accounts. Assist with vehicle loading, unloading, and transportation duties as required. Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used. Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company policies. Qualifications Pass background check Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy equipment mechanic. Knowledge of vehicle systems including electrical, mechanical, and automotive components. Skilled in welding techniques relevant to machinery repair. Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues efficiently. Experience with loader operation or other heavy equipment operation preferred. Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures for trucks and heavy machinery. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to work independently in a part-time capacity while maintaining safety standards. Relevant certifications or technical training in diesel mechanics or heavy equipment repair is advantageous.
