Heavy Equipment Operator - 1st Shift
Job Description
AMERICAN WOOD FIBERS OVERALL OBJECTIVE
Operates safely and efficiently to optimize the production and shipping of wood flour and shavings.

REPORTS TO
Shift Supervisor
RESPONSIBILITIES
Operates various mobile equipment in a safe and efficient manner unloading various raw material trailers and providing raw materials to the operational systems. Maintain mobile equipment as per the SOP (including blowdowns and routine service). Responsible for accurate record keeping in moving material into and out of the raw room. Supports the yardman as needed. Assist with keeping plant organized and clean on a daily basis. Workstation and equipment cleanup are required daily and during production runs if needed. Quality Maintains and verifies that all current quality assurance measures are being followed and communicated to supervisors, production employees, office personnel and customers. Assist in implementation of new procedures as needed. Safety Operates equipment as per the SOP, following directions as provided. Keeps work area clean and organized. Utilizes all of the required PPE for the task being performed.
THIS IS A HIGH DUST
environment and the equipment must be properly maintained while in operation. Help to keep others safe in the work place by looking out for them and participating in safety related improvements. Follow the safety protocols for the use of mobile equipment. Other Responsibilities Availability to work on any assigned shift including scheduled overtime (including Sunday). Establishes personal growth and works with fellow employees towards continuous improvement and teamwork.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Physical capability to bend, squat, or stoop Previous mobile equipment and/or forklift preferred
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to work in extreme weather Ability to wear PPE gear correctly Ability to lift 25/50/80lbs regularly Ability to respond quickly to sounds Ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces Ability to see and respond to dangerous situations
