Job Description
Overview Muskingum Iron and Metal are seeking a skilled and reliable Skid Steer Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment and a strong understanding of safety protocols. This role involves maneuvering a skid steer to organize, load/unload, and ability to move scrap metal for further processing. Responsibilities Ability to operate the skid steer to load and unload vehicles, move scrap metal, and transport materials for processing Keep the yard clean, organized, and safe by clearing debris and properly stacking materials Assist with tasks such as sorting, grading, and loading materials for bailing Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and team members Ability to communicate with supervisor, drivers, customers regarding inbound and outbound commodities Skills Mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment operation and maintenance. Proven experience operating skid steers along with other machinery such as excavators, dozers, and loaders Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to follow directions accurately in a fast-paced environment.
