The starting wage for this role is $25.00/hour with monthly bonus opportunities. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate mobile equipment including but not limited to forklifts, front loader, mobile cranes and heavy trucks Operate scrap burning equipment Unload and load scrap metal from trucks and railcars Grade incoming and outgoing scrap while keeping inventory separated Maintain equipment using basic hand tools Perform daily safety inspection of all equipment Keep accurate and legible records Maintain a clean and safe work area; keep areas free from scrap and debris Performs other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Ability to be an Oregon Steel Mills Certified Forklift Operator Ability to be an Oregon Steel Mills Certified Mobile Crane Operator Able to learn, retain, and apply new knowledge Excellent written and oral communication skills Flexibility and willingness to learn, and accept changes in job duties Excellent math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, accurate number identification Able to work independently Able to sit for long periods of time Must have good spatial and relational perception Knowledge of hand communicating signals for crane/ground communications Able to use basic hand tools: wrenches, hammers, and screwdrivers Able to work in environment subject to fluctuations in heat, humidity, odors, dust, and noise. Able to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays and/or overtime Our total compensation package includes amazing benefits!
