Hourly pay consummate with experience and machinery classification Position Overview Marlin Construction Services is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator for a 6+ month project in Berwick, Pennsylvania . This position will support active construction operations and is ideal for an operator with experience working on heavy civil, sitework, utility, or similar construction projects . The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating equipment while working closely with field supervision and other members of the project team. Responsibilities Safely operate heavy construction equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, skid steers, backhoes, and other equipment as required Perform excavation, grading, trenching, backfilling, material handling, and general sitework operations Support underground utility and heavy civil construction activities Follow project plans, grade stakes, and direction from field supervision Perform daily equipment inspections and identify maintenance or safety concerns Maintain equipment in clean and safe operating condition Work safely around ground crews, utilities, structures, and other equipment Follow all company and project-specific safety requirements Assist with general field activities when equipment operation is not required Maintain productivity while ensuring work meets project specifications and quality standards Qualifications Previous experience operating heavy construction equipment required Experience with heavy civil, sitework, excavation, or underground utility construction strongly preferred Proficiency operating multiple pieces of equipment is highly desirable Ability to work safely and productively in an active construction environment Ability to understand grades, elevations, and basic construction plans preferred Strong awareness of jobsite safety procedures Reliable transportation to the Berwick, PA project site Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and site conditions OSHA or other applicable construction safety certifications are a plus
