Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Excavator Operator to join our construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating heavy machinery, primarily excavators, to facilitate various construction projects. Your expertise will help ensure that excavation tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and heavy equipment operation skills to contribute to successful site development. Duties Operate excavators and other heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, and paving machines with precision and safety. Perform site preparation activities including digging trenches, foundations, and grading to specifications. Conduct routine inspections of machinery before and after use; perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting as needed. Coordinate with project managers and team members to execute excavation plans efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. Assist with the operation of horizontal drilling equipment and other specialized construction machinery when required. Follow all safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a secure work environment on active construction sites. Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, inspections, and project progress. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy construction equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, and paving machinery. Proven experience operating excavators in a construction setting; familiarity with Caterpillar equipment is a plus. Ability to perform commercial driving duties when necessary for transporting equipment or materials safely across sites. Skilled in heavy equipment operation with a focus on precision and safety compliance. Construction site experience demonstrating knowledge of site layout, safety procedures, and project workflows. Proficiency in operating related machinery such as horizontal drilling rigs and grader operation tools. Good communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and supervisors.
