About Us:
Hopkins Construction & Excavation is a locally owned company focused on high-quality civil, commercial and residential work in the Gallatin Valley. Backed by four generations of experience in the construction industry, we bring proven knowledge and work ethic to every project. In addition, our team brings over 11 years of hands-on experience working right here in the valley. We are supported by our well-established family company, founded in 1946, providing strong resources and long-term stability as we grow.
Position Overview:
This is a hybrid role—part laborer, part operator with the opportunity to grow into crew lead . You'll help with pipe install, services, backfill and jump in equipment as needed.
Responsibilities:
Assist with pipe installation and services Operate excavator, skid steer, front end loader, roller as needed Help with demo and site prep Set grade and assist with layout Backfill, compact, and finish work Support the crew wherever needed Assist in setting manholes, hydrants, valve boxes
Requirements:
Experience in construction or excavation Basic equipment operating experience (excavator/skid steer/loader/roller/dozer) Willingness to jump between labor and operating Strong work ethic and reliability
Preferred:
Underground utility experience CDL is a plus Ability to read plans and staking SWPPP Certificate Topcon experience
