Responsibilities Operate overhead cranes with precision to lift, move, and position heavy materials and equipment across various work sites. Follow load handling procedures in crane operations to ensure safe lifting and transportation of materials. Secure loads using appropriate rigging methods, including load securing rigging techniques, to prevent accidents or material damage during transit. Conduct pre-operation inspections of cranes and lifting equipment, including hydraulics, safety equipment, and load handling accessories. Adhere strictly to construction site safety regulations and OSHA safety standards during all crane operations. Coordinate with team members to plan lifting activities, ensuring clear communication and safe working conditions. Maintain detailed records of crane usage, inspections, maintenance needs, and safety checks to ensure ongoing compliance with safety regulations. Requirements Proven experience operating overhead cranes within construction or warehouse environments. Mechanical knowledge related to cranes, hydraulics, lifting equipment, and load handling procedures. Valid certifications in crane operation; additional certifications such as forklift, boom truck, backhoe operation or excavator are highly desirable. Strong understanding of construction workplace safety regulations and implementation of OSHA safety standards. Experience with materials handling, rigging techniques, and load securing methods in construction or shipping & receiving settings. Ability to operate other heavy equipment such as forklifts or backhoes as needed on site.
