We offer competitive hourly pay plus overtime under a W-2 contract to hire. We even offer paid sick leave after 90 days and vacation time after 1 year. We are an E.O.E. and pay depends upon experience. Will be responsible for safely operating and maintaining a variety of construction equipment to ensure the accurate laying of asphalt, concrete or earth work surfaces according to project specifications. Physical labor may be required from time to time. Duties and Responsibilities Willingness to learn and work on a team is a must Participates in cross training activities Adheres to all safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe work environment Ability to safely operate a variety of equipment such as dozers, excavators, graders, skid steers, paving machines, asphalt trucks, rollers, tandem axle trucks/trailers, etc. to construct, repair and maintain roads, and properties Must maintain an acute sense of awareness to your surroundings while operating equipment (watch for obstructions while operating the equipment, such as curbs, gutters and ground utilities) Maintains accurate records of work performed, materials used, equipment maintenance logs and any other required paperwork Performs routine maintenance on equipment which may include checking oil, water, gasoline, and air Skills and Qualifications Flexibility with last minute schedule, location and time changes is a must High school diploma or GED required Must hold a valid Class C driver's license Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers, and crew members Plus, but not required. Class A CDL drivers licenses appropriate for weight of vehicle to be operated For Class A CDL drivers: ​Must pass background, driving and DOT drug testing as required by federal and/or state department(s) of transportation regulations Physical & Work Requirements Prolonged periods sitting; as a normal shift is 8-10 hours Any other duties as assigned by management
