PRIMARY PURPOSE:

To assist district campuses, facilities and athletic grounds areas in repairs and mowing by operating heavy

equipment including front end loaders, tractors with brush hog attachment, dump trucks, moving trucks and

different types lifts. Heavy Equipment Operator will ensure the appropriate and safe movement of

materials while working cooperatively with coworkers to complete projects accurately and in a timely

manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATIONCERTIFICATION

High School diploma or GED equivalent

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGESKILLSREQUIREMENTS

Ability to operate, service, maintain and secure district heavy equipment

Prior experience operating a variety heavy equipment

Ability to lift up to pounds

Excellent vision or the use prescribed lenses

Understanding and following pertinent safety guidelines

Capacity to provide and follow direction

Decision-making skills, particularly when under pressure

Ability to work extended hours, as required

EXPERIENCE

Three years' experience in the operation and maintenance heavy equipment which include front loaders,

tractors with brush hog attachments, excavators, dump trucks, moving box trucks, forklifts, boom, scissor lifts

and power washing equipment. To be familiar with the use concrete hand tools for the use cutting,

breaking and pouring. Use grass cutting and hand trimming equipment.

DRIVING

Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License and be insurable

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DAY TO DAY DUTIES

. Operate, drive and control heavy equipment.

. Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers.

. Grading roadways and parking lots dirt, sand and rock.

. Backfill areas as needed due to plumbing repairs etc. throughout the district.

. Dig and clean out storm drains and ditches.

. Operate tractor which includes mowing campuses, facilities and district vacant lots.

. Construction projects consisting parking areas, sidewalks, equipment slabs, and ramps.

. Pour and finish concrete.

. Work with Operations and Maintenance departments to accomplishing district tasksgoals.

. Perform operator maintenance on assigned vehicle, tools, and equipment.

. Operate power washing equipment.

. Complete required paperwork, reporting and other documentation.

. Perform any other duties as assigned.
