Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a variety of construction machinery to facilitate building projects, site preparation, and material handling. Your expertise will ensure safe, efficient, and precise operation of heavy equipment, contributing directly to the successful completion of construction tasks. Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment such as loaders, backhoes, John Deere machinery, front loader trucks, and machinery to move materials, excavate, load/unload trucks, and perform site preparation. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on construction machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance. Follow all equipment safety procedures and occupational safety regulations to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and team members. Handle materials efficiently using appropriate material handling equipment while adhering to safety standards. Maintain detailed logs of equipment usage, maintenance activities, and safety inspections. Collaborate closely with team members to coordinate tasks effectively on busy construction sites. Qualifications Proven experience operating construction machinery such as loaders, backhoes, cranes, and other heavy equipment in a construction setting. Valid commercial driver's license with experience in commercial truck driving and operating Strong mechanical knowledge of hydraulic systems, hydraulics, hand tools, and general construction machinery maintenance. Familiarity with occupational safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Ability to perform routine inspections and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues confidently. Experience working with Caterpillar or similar brands of construction equipment is preferred.
