Job Description

Loader/Yard Operator.
Position Summary:
The loader operator reports to the batch plant operator and will be in the role of production teamwork. Primary responsibilities are- to safely load materials for concrete batching, maintain stockpile areas, and general housekeeping of the plant and yard area.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Operate the loader and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment. Understand and follow directions from supervisors for required work. Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure the smooth operation of the loader. Operate other heavy equipment and other construction-related duties as required. Familiar with concrete batch plant operations and performing maintenance of the batch plant. Perform regular shovel work and general office, shop & yard cleanup. Assist in plant repairs.
Qualifications/Minimum Requirements:
H igh school Diploma or Equivalent Preferred. Must possess a valid Texas-issued driver's license. Must be able to pass a drug test. Must be able to communicate in English. Must be willing to report to other plants as needed.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Demands:
Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree. Available to work a flexible schedule based on production needs. Has a consistent safety culture. Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, high noise levels, and working outdoors. Required to wear protective equipment while on the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate with employees/customers as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment. Employees must be able to perform all job functions which include but may not be limited to pushing turning and or pulling controls. Employees must be willing to work on other tasks as assigned or needed. Employees must be able to climb ladders and work at heights up to 80 feet. The employee must be able to lift a 100-pound sack 4 ½ feet high.
