Position Purpose:

The Yard Driver is responsible for moving tractor trailers to/from the loading docks and parking loaded or empty trailers in designated areas in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company. Responsibilities may include, but not limited to: Performs inspections and moves trailers safely following all DOT regulations and company safe-driving policies. Fuels, moves, and parks tractors and trailers to the docks. Tractor trailers will be moved around the yard and may move trailers to other locations. Secures trucks, trailers, and equipment always. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Benefits Information Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
  • 6+ months yard hostler/switcher experience
  • Must be able to work the scheduled, assigned times and required overtime for the position.
  • Valid Class A driver's license
  • Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
  • Pass road test Preferred qualifications:
  • 1+ years yard hostler/switcher experience
  • Onboard computer and electronic log system experience (i.
