Job Description

Position Overview This position primarily involves operating 200- and 300-class excavators equipped with hydraulic shears on industrial demolition, decommissioning, and metal processing projects. Previous excavator experience is required. Hydraulic shear experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train an experienced, safety-minded excavator operator who can quickly learn metal cutting and demolition operations. Requirements Previous excavator operating experience required Hydraulic shear or demolition experience preferred Ability and willingness to learn metal cutting and processing Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen CDL is a plus, but not required Must work safely and effectively as part of a team Must be willing to travel and work out of town Must be dependable and able to work the schedule required by active projects Travel & Schedule This is a traveling field position , and applicants should understand the schedule before applying. Travel may be up to 12 days at a time, followed by approximately 3 days off Some Saturdays may be required depending on project schedules No Sunday work Out-of-town and overnight travel is required SMS currently has active projects throughout TX, LA, OK, and MS .
