Job Overview We are looking for an experienced and skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy machinery to safely and efficiently handle scrap materials and maintain operational flow. This role requires a commitment to safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.

Responsibilities:

Operate scrap-handling equipment such as shear, material handlers, front-end loaders, and excavators to move, load, and sort materials. Use skid steers and forklifts for material handling and site maintenance. Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on equipment to ensure safe operation. Safely load and unload materials, adhering to company protocols and safety standards. Collaborate with other team members to maintain an organized and efficient yard. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of equipment and work areas. Follow all company policies and safety regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.

Qualifications:

Proven experience operating heavy equipment, including scrap-handling equipment, front-end loaders, skid steers, forklifts, and similar machinery. Knowledge of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. Strong understanding of safety protocols in an industrial setting. Physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift heavy materials as needed. High school diploma or equivalent. Valid certifications for operating heavy equipment and forklifts are a plus. Team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills.
