In this energetic role, you will operate specialized hydrovac trucks to safely and efficiently excavate around utilities, pipelines, and construction sites. Your expertise in heavy equipment operation and construction site experience will drive success on diverse projects. Duties Operate hydrovac trucks equipped with high-pressure water systems and vacuum equipment to excavate soil around utilities, pipelines, and construction zones Conduct pre-operation inspections of all equipment, ensuring mechanical integrity and safety compliance Coordinate with project managers and site supervisors to plan excavation tasks and ensure adherence to project specifications Use auxiliary heavy machinery such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, and dump trucks as needed for site preparation and support Maintain accurate logs of work performed, including excavation depths, locations, and safety checks Follow all safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation, construction sites, and transportation regulations Assist with setup and breakdown of work zones, including traffic control measures when necessary Skills Strong mechanical knowledge of hydrovac systems and related heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, horizontal drilling units, tankers, and paving machinery Proven experience operating commercial vehicles with a CDL license in construction or industrial environments Skilled in operating heavy equipment like Caterpillar machinery and other construction tools safely and efficiently Knowledge of construction site safety standards and procedures for excavation work Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues quickly to minimize downtime during operations Familiarity with soil types, underground utilities locating techniques, and excavation best practices Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and site personnel Embark on a career that combines technical skill with impactful work!
