Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Yard Hand to join our team at a dynamic manufacturing shop and pipe yard. The Yard Hand will play a crucial role in supporting the operations of heavy equipment and ensuring the yard is organized and efficient. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to operate various machinery safely.
Duties:
Operate front loader trucks and other heavy equipment as needed. Assist in loader operation for moving materials around the pipe yard. Assist with receiving and sorting jobs. Assist in the phosphating process and ensure the completion and readiness of parts and pipes for customer and facility specifications. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols.
Skills:
Proficiency in operating heavy equipment, including front loaders and forklifts. Strong material handling skills for safely moving and loading materials. Attention to detail to ensure quality control when sorting and handling materials. Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and assist colleagues with various tasks. Problem-solving skills to identify and implement effective solutions in a fast-paced environment. Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks throughout the workday. Basic maintenance skills for troubleshooting heavy equipment. Strong communication skills to convey tasks and safety concerns clearly. Adaptability to learn and adjust to new processes, technologies, and equipment.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a similar role is preferred. Knowledge of drill pipe manufacturing processes is a plus.
