Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated Water Maintenance Operator to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of water distribution systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, troubleshooting skills, and experience with heavy equipment operation. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on water quality and infrastructure maintenance, contributing to community health and safety. Responsibilities Operate and maintain water distribution systems, ensuring compliance with environmental standards Perform equipment repair and routine maintenance on pumps, valves, piping, and other system components Manage heavy equipment operation including backhoes/mini track hoe and construction machinery as needed Perform heavy lifting tasks safely during installation, repair, or maintenance activities Troubleshoot mechanical issues using analysis skills and basic math for calculations related to system operations Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, system performance, and repairs Assist with plumbing tasks related to water distribution systems Qualifications Proven experience with water distribution systems Mechanical knowledge related to pumps, valves, piping, and general equipment repair Experience operating heavy equipment such as construction machinery is a plus Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and troubleshoot issues effectively Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations, and data analysis Knowledge of plumbing systems relevant to water distribution or treatment facilities Prior experience in construction or maintenance roles is advantageous This position requires a proactive approach to maintenance tasks, safety awareness, and a commitment to operational excellence. Candidates should be prepared to work in various environmental conditions while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.

From $16.00 per hour
