Responsibilities Operate excavators ranging from approximately 50,000 to 120,000 pounds. Perform structural, commercial, industrial, and selective demolition. Safely demolish and process concrete, structural steel, masonry, wood-framed structures, foundations, slabs, and other building materials. Proficiently operate multiple demolition attachments, including: Hydraulic hammers Concrete pulverizers/processors Hydraulic shears Grapple buckets Standard digging and cleanup buckets Sort, separate, process, and stockpile demolition debris. Load trucks and containers efficiently without overloading or damaging equipment. Work safely around existing structures, utilities, personnel, traffic, and improvements that must remain. Perform daily equipment inspections and identify maintenance or repair needs. Communicate clearly with foremen, superintendents, laborers, truck drivers, and other operators. Follow project-specific demolition plans, safety procedures, and supervisor direction. Maintain a productive work pace while protecting the machine and surrounding property. Required Qualifications Previous excavator operating experience in the demolition industry . Demonstrated experience operating excavators between approximately 50,000 and 120,000 pounds. Ability to proficiently use hydraulic hammers, pulverizers, shears, and grapple buckets. Strong understanding of demolition sequencing and structural behavior. Ability to recognize changing jobsite conditions and adjust operations safely. Ability to work productively without sacrificing safety or equipment care. Dependable transportation and reliable attendance. Ability to work outdoors in Texas weather and around dust, noise, vibration, and heavy equipment. Willingness to work overtime, weekends, nights, or travel when required by the project. Ability to pass all required pre-employment screening. Preferred Qualifications Experience with high-reach, long-front, or straight-boom demolition excavators. Experience performing precision demolition near occupied buildings or structures to remain. Experience processing reinforced concrete and structural steel. Experience loading end dumps, roll-off containers, and high-side demolition trailers. OSHA training or other applicable heavy-equipment certifications. Basic knowledge of equipment maintenance and attachment change-out procedures.
