Position Overview Ash Haul Operators are responsible for the safe and efficient hauling, loading, transporting, and dumping of ash and related materials. This position supports overall plant efficiency by ensuring that ash is managed in compliance with environmental, safety, and operational standards. The role requires strong attention to safety, equipment operation skills, and the ability to work in varying outdoor conditions. Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)- Operate haul trucks, loaders, and other heavy equipment used for ash transport and material handling safely and efficiently.
- Perform daily pre-shift inspections and routine maintenance checks on equipment.
- Safely load, haul, and dump ash to designated disposal or storage locations following established procedures.
- Must keep time and material records.
- Must follow verbal and written instruction.
- Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance needs, or safety issues immediately.
- Maintain clean work areas, safe traffic patterns, and proper load handling.
- Ability for maneuvering and backing.
- Must be able to communicate effectively on the radio system.
- Responsible for safe slopes on excavations and proper barricading.
- Perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.
- May assist in labor and physical tasks as needed.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in aggregates, cement, power plant, or industrial hauling environments preferred but not required.
- MSHA or OSHA training certification preferred. Certificates, License, Registrations
- Valid state commercial driver's license (CDL) Class A is preferred.
- Valid driver's license is required. Work Requirements
- One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Incident free driving record preferred.
