We are a well-established excavation contractor serving Northern Virginia, specializing in demolition, excavation, lot clearing, wet utility installation, erosion and sediment control, stormwater management, and rough and final grading . We're looking for a dependable, safety-minded operator who takes pride in producing quality work. Our operators are expected to be team players who are willing to work both in and out of the equipment to keep projects moving safely and efficiently. If you're looking for a position where you only operate equipment, this is not the job for you. Responsibilities Safely operate excavators, mini excavators, skid steers, and other heavy construction equipment. Perform excavation, trenching, grading, demolition, lot clearing, and site preparation. Install and backfill underground wet utilities, including water, sewer, and storm drainage systems. Install erosion and sediment control measures and stormwater management facilities. Perform rough and final grading to project specifications. Read and interpret grading plans, cut sheets, grade stakes, and elevations. Excavate safely around existing underground utilities. Load and unload equipment and materials as needed. Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance issues. Assist with hand digging, shoveling, raking, grading, pipe installation, and other manual labor when needed. Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites. Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of heavy equipment operating experience preferred. Experience operating excavators, mini excavators, skid steers, and other earthmoving equipment. Experience with underground utility installation and site development preferred. Ability to read grading plans, cut sheets, and elevations. Ability to layout foundations and set grades using a transit. Valid driver's license required (CDL is a plus). Reliable transportation. Strong work ethic with excellent attendance and punctuality. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
