Job Description
The Anderson Company, LLC , a site development company for over 27 years is seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to join our dirt crews.

• By applying to this position, you acknowledge that commuting to our jobsites is part of the role . The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating heavy and compact equipment for site development, dirt work, excavation, grading, trenching, and underground utility installation. Key Responsibilities Safely operate excavators, loaders, dozers, skid steers, mini excavators, and other construction equipment. Perform mass excavation, dirt moving, grading, backfilling, and site preparation. Excavate trenches for water, sewer, storm drain, and other underground utilities. Operate excavators around existing utilities and structures with attention to safety and accuracy. Load and move dirt, rock, pipe, aggregate, and construction materials. Assist pipe crews with trenching, bedding, backfill, and utility installation. Perform fine grading and finish work using dozers, skid steers, loaders, and excavators. Read and work from site plans, grades, elevations, and utility layouts. Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety issues. Maintain safe work areas and follow company, OSHA, and project safety requirements. Work efficiently as part of a grading, excavation, or underground utility crew. Perform additional construction duties as needed.
Qualification:
Previous experience operating construction equipment in dirt, sitework, excavation, or underground utility construction. Ability to safely and efficiently operate equipment in tight and open work areas. Experience working around underground utilities is strongly preferred. Ability to understand grades, elevations, and basic construction plans. Strong attention to safety and equipment care. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift, walk, bend, climb, and perform physical construction work when required. Valid driver's license preferred.
Requirements:
Experience with some or all of the following is preferred: Excavators Pipe/trenching excavators Wheel loaders Track loaders Bulldozers Skid steers Mini excavators Backhoes Compactors and rollers Physical Requirements Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and uneven terrain. Ability to sit and operate heavy equipment for extended periods while maintaining constant attention and control. Ability to frequently climb into and out of heavy equipment cabs and access equipment platforms. Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and work around construction sites as needed. Ability to safely navigate uneven, muddy, rocky, or rough terrain. Ability to lift and carry tools, materials, and equipment components weighing up to 50 pounds when required. Ability to perform repetitive hand, arm, foot, and leg movements while operating equipment. Ability to maintain adequate vision, depth perception, peripheral awareness, and hearing necessary for safe equipment operation. Ability to communicate effectively with ground personnel, supervisors, truck drivers, and other crew members, including through radios and hand signals. Ability to work near heavy machinery, moving vehicles, excavations, trenches, and other construction hazards while following required safety procedures. Ability to remain alert and focused for extended work periods. Ability to respond quickly to changing site conditions and emergency situations. Ability to work a full shift, including overtime, weekends, or extended hours when project requirements dictate. Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety vest, work boots, gloves, eye protection, and hearing protection as required.
