Role Description:
The Operator role at Chemung Contracting Corporation is a full-time, on-site position based in Gainesville, VA. The Operator will safely operate a loader at our asphalt plant in Gainesville, VA. Daily responsibilities include performing equipment pre-trip inspections, monitoring material movement, following site plans and directions from supervisors, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. The role also involves adhering to all safety policies and assisting with routine equipment maintenance. Qualifications Proficiency in operating heavy construction equipment (e.g., loaders) and ability to follow equipment operating procedures. Strong safety awareness, including adherence to OSHA standards, use of PPE, and safe work practices around active construction and traffic. Basic mechanical aptitude for conducting equipment inspections, identifying issues, and assisting with minor maintenance or repairs. Effective teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with forepersons, drivers, and crew members. Physical ability to work outdoors in diverse weather, stand for extended periods, and lift or move materials as required.
