In this role, you will operate heavy equipment, specifically mini excavators, to perform excavation, grading, and utility work on various construction sites. Your expertise will ensure efficient project progress while maintaining strict adherence to safety and equipment protocols. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to diverse construction projects and develop your skills in heavy machinery operation. Duties Operate mini excavators and related construction machinery safely and efficiently for excavation, grading, trenching, and utility installation tasks. Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance. Assist with construction utility work, including locating underground utilities using specialized tools and techniques. Follow federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures at all times to maintain a safe work environment. Support construction site activities by loading, unloading, and moving materials using loaders or other heavy equipment. Collaborate with team members to execute precise excavation plans, ensuring accuracy in depth, slope, and alignment. Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, maintenance activities, and safety inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards. Skills Proven experience operating mini excavators (excavation) within construction environments. Strong mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and performing basic maintenance on construction machinery. Familiarity with construction grading, backhoe operation, loader operation, and general heavy equipment operation. Knowledge of federal construction safety regulations and safety regulations specific to heavy equipment use. Ability to perform utility locating accurately to prevent damage during excavation work. Valid commercial driver's license with experience in commercial truck driving or related driving skills preferred.
